Depending on your evolutionary path as a herbivore, carnivore, or omnivore, you get various bonuses when you evolve. Eventually, after consuming enough sustenance and spending enough time in the primordial soup, you evolve to a land animal and the camera pulls back to a full three-dimensional view.
